The purpose of this web page is to state the practice and game day cancellation guidelines and game day cancellation communication plan for the Lee's Summit Junior Basketball Association.
BAD WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY
LSJBA in partnership with the R-7 Facilities Office has established the following guidelines for cancellation of practice times and game day schedules.
If the R-7 School District cancels school -- whether for the day, early release, or evening activities -- because of bad weather, practice times for that day are cancelled as well.
On game days, if the school district is able to provide safe passage to the gyms in use, i.e. sidewalks and parking lots, games will be played.
GAME DAY CANCELLATION COMMUNICATION PLAN
In the event of a game day cancellation, the R-7 Facilities Office will notify the LSJBA Schedule Coordinator with as much advanced lead time as possible but up to 6 am on game day. The schedule coordinator will then activate an internal league calling tree by calling the league President as well as each of the League Representatives. The League Representatives will then call each of their team coaches who in turn are responsible for notifying their team parents. In addition to the calling tree, the "News Bulletin" section located on the website's home page and the "Current Game Day Status" section will be updated with up-to-date information.
All league fee refund requests should be directed to the League's Treasurer (Treasurer@lsbasketball.com) and must be received prior to the player draft day for the league the player is signed up to participate in. Player draft day information can be found on our Calendar.
The information required for processing includes:
A check will be mailed to the address that appears on your registration form no more than 2 weeks after your refund request has been received. The check amount will be exclusive of the processing fee paid if you registered online.
