LSJBA Competitive leagues (3rd - 7th grades only) are really "Coach Select" leagues and are available to coaches (or parents who want to be coaches) who wish to recruit their "entire team" prior to the drafts. Unfortunately, the league first learns of these teams when they register and they are required to register with at least 8 players. If you would like your son to try out for a competitive team come to our competitive player showcase.

1st and 2nd grade teams will be assigned approximately two weeks prior to the first scheduled game which may be found in the Calendar of Events. Teams for grades 3rd - 12th are formed through an open draft. The draft will be held on the first Sunday following the player's skills clinic. Following the draft, coaches will contact members of their teams to communicate game schedules and practice times and locations.
 

No. All teams are required to wear the uniforms issued to them by the league for all games and team pictures. The position of the league is that allowing exceptions to the uniform policy is problematic and not in the best interest of all the players involved in the league.

Formation of the 7th/8th, 9th/10th & 11th/12th Grade league teams teams will occur after try-outs for the Middle and High School teams. Registration details will be posted when available.

LSJBA is a not for profit organization run by volunteers so all the money we take in goes back into the league. We don't require fund raisers (YEAH!!). Your fee covers: Game Uniforms, End of Season T-shirts, Individual and team pictures, Officials and Scorekeepers, Tournament Tropies and Awards, Practice and Game facilities at Lee's Summit Schools.

All parents must furnish tennis shoes and practice shirt and shorts. LSJBA will provide game T-shirts for grades 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, and 12, while players must supply shorts for games. Full team uniforms will be provided in grades 4 through 9. All participants are required to wear LSJBA uniforms to participate in games. Uniform distribution will be on October 29 at LSHS Building "B" Gym - 8th & Browning. Coaches will receive a schedule of times. It would be helpful if your child had his own basketball at practices. This is not required but is recommended.

Team practices generally start on Monday of the first full week in November. Your team's coach will inform you of the practice days, time and place.

All games are played at area schools on Saturdays between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Schedules are generally available by the last week of October through the coaches as well as posted on LSBasketball.com. The first game of the season is a practice game and is generally held the first Saturday of the first full week of November.
